ThriftWise — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 1, 2026
1. Overview
ThriftWise is operated by Wise Creations Inc. (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains what information ThriftWise collects, why we use it, and the choices available to you when you use the app and related services.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, authentication identifiers, and profile details you choose to provide, such as age range, gender, currency, and shopping preferences.
- Photos and wardrobe content: photos you take or select, clothing-item details, wishlist entries, style preferences, and generated analysis or try-on results.
- Location: precise or approximate location when you grant permission so the app can show nearby thrift stores.
- Purchases: product, subscription, trial, renewal, cancellation, and entitlement information provided by Apple and our subscription infrastructure. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
- Device and usage information: device and app identifiers, operating system, app interactions, attribution information, diagnostics, and crash or performance data.
- Public website analytics: manually defined page, content, call-to-action, and outbound-link events on thriftwiseapp.com. Website URL query strings and fragments are removed before capture.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide accounts, cloud sync, wardrobe features, AI analysis, and virtual try-on.
- Show nearby stores and personalize the app experience.
- Manage subscriptions, trials, purchases, restoration, and customer support.
- Measure product performance, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- Measure marketing performance and understand which ads or campaigns lead to installs, trials, and subscriptions, subject to your device permissions and applicable law.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect users, our services, and our rights.
4. Service Providers
We use service providers that process information on our behalf, including:
- Supabase for authentication, databases, and cloud file storage.
- Google services for sign-in, Maps/Places features, and Gemini-powered photo and text processing.
- Apple for sign-in, App Store purchases, and subscription processing.
- Superwall for paywalls, entitlements, and subscription analytics.
- PostHog for in-app product analytics and privacy-masked session replay, plus anonymous cookieless public-website measurement and persistent website measurement if you allow it.
- Sentry for crash reporting, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.
- AppsFlyer and Meta for mobile attribution, campaign measurement, and subscription conversion reporting.
These providers process information under their own privacy terms and our agreements with them. Information may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate.
5. Advertising, Attribution, and Tracking Choices
On iOS, ThriftWise asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before enabling access to the advertising identifier for cross-app measurement. If you decline, the app remains usable and our providers use limited or privacy-preserving measurement where available. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising measurement activity may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under certain privacy laws. You can limit it through the iOS tracking setting or contact us using the address below.
Before you answer its privacy prompt, the public ThriftWise website measures anonymous aggregate activity only. That baseline runs PostHog in always-cookieless mode: it writes no analytics identifier to cookies, local storage, or session storage, creates no persistent profile, and enables no session replay, heatmaps, surveys, automatic error capture, or autocapture. It records only manually defined page, content, call-to-action, and outbound-link events, with URL query strings and fragments removed, and marks them as the cookieless measurement tier.
If you allow analytics, the website stores one site-specific anonymous identifier so the same manually defined PostHog activity can be connected across visits. The PostHog SDK itself remains memory-only and does not retain landing URLs or referrers in browser storage. The website still does not enable interaction autocapture, session replay, heatmaps, surveys, or automatic error and performance capture, and it does not send input values, full URLs, or advertising identifiers. If you decline, only the anonymous cookieless baseline continues. Do Not Track suppresses website analytics entirely, and analytics remain off when the website has no configured PostHog project key.
6. Data Retention and Security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Retention periods vary by data type. We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can request account deletion from the app settings or contact us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Children
ThriftWise is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date.
